I’m just back from a walk in the rain on a day when I really didn’t want to go (so glad I did). I got to thinking about weight loss. And how people spend SO much time restricting themselves, their food, their calories- and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it works for awhile but the weight comes right back on.
But, you know what? After working on myself the last, well…lifetime, and with countless women over the last 7 years, I can tell you this: the key to losing weight isn’t just about food. It’s about so many other things: loving yourself, forgiving yourself, giving yourself permission to be bad, giving yourself permission to mess up, listening to your body and letting her tell you what it REALLY wants. It’s one step at a time. And yes, building the right habits that jive with you and your life. But it’s doable. It’s right there for the taking. You just have to be bold enough to trust.
I’m learning that again right now-I’m finding ways to do things I love to do, to love my body for what it can do, and to stay true in who I am. It works. And it feels so freaking good. It really does.
How do you step into this for yourself?
